Get to Know Me Better
What do you enjoy most about your current job?
After having been an independent contractor or employee of locally-owned/operated brokerages for thirty years, I ventured into corporate America and discovered that it was not my cup of tea. River Wealth Advisors offered me the opportunity to return to a company with local ownership and leadership that is accessible and appreciative of the team that supports the greater good of client care and overall success for all.
What do you love most about being part of river wealth advisors?
The team environment that exists that promotes and supports service, communication, follow-up and attention to our clients needs. Leadership has created a unique model that truly puts our clients first and the team as a whole supports that directive.
What are your favorite hobbies?
I have been participating in a dart league for the last 3-4 years and I can often be found with a mic in my hand for karaoke or open mic nights in the area. This summer, I hope to return to the game of golf after a long respite. I also hope to have some time to visit with my (still new) grandson, who lives out of state with my daughter and son-in-law. Living vicariously through my children was always my favorite past time, and my son still provides me with some of that excitement as a college football coach. I am often on the road on weekends travelling to his games to cheer the team on! I also enjoy cooking, trying new recipes and cooking for a crowd…and pairing just the right cocktails to complement.
what is your favorite book?
All I Really Need to Know I Learned in Kindergarten by Robert Fulghum. It’s as basic as can be but offers the greatest advice for developing a firm foundation in life. This along with Charlotte’s Web provided me with greater wisdom, understanding and compassion than any book that I’ve read in my adult years. Steven Covey, Zig Ziglar, Tony Robbins and Suze Orman have all offered various principles relating to success but none can compare to those two little books from childhood.
what was your first job?
Aside from a few babysitting jobs, my first job was working in a small grocer/lunch counter in Wormleysburg when I was 15 years old. I can still stack a sub and whip up a tasty milkshake!
what are your bucket list vacation spots?
Santorini, Greece; Bologna or Emilia Romagna, Italy; Maldives; Galapagos Island; Iceland
What's the best advice you've ever received?
Be strong in your convictions and never be afraid to speak your mind. And, dance like no one is watching!
