Our Approach
How We Get Paid
River Wealth Advisors is an independent, fee-only, SEC-Registered Investment Advisor (RIA). Since 1940, regulations established by the U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission have required that RIAs meet a fiduciary standard when advising clients. The fiduciary standard requires RIAs to put their clients’ interests above their own and to act in their best interest. As a fee-only advisor, River Wealth Advisors adheres to the higher fiduciary standard when advising clients about investments.
This means we do not receive commissions for transactions and provide objective wealth management advice based solely on the merits of the investment.
Clients are charged an annual advisory fee, based on a percentage of assets under management. The annual fee is prorated and paid quarterly, based upon the market value of the assets under our management on the last day of each quarter.
Registration as an investment adviser is not an endorsement by securities regulators and does not imply that River Wealth Advisors has attained a certain level of skill, training, or ability. Adherence to our fiduciary duty is not a guarantee of client satisfaction or any particular outcome. A financial adviser’s compensation structure should not be viewed as the sole determining factor in obtaining or retaining their services. Not all services will be appropriate or necessary for all clients, and the potential value and benefit of River Wealth Advisors (“RWA’s”) services will vary based upon a variety of factors, such as the client’s investment and financial circumstances, the client’s tax bracket, the nature and amount of the client’s employer and outside benefits, the client’s level of cooperation and communication, and the client’s overall objectives.
